At Big Step Arizona, we believe that healing doesn’t just come from services. Sometimes, what makes the biggest difference is having someone by your side who has been through it and understands what you’re feeling without you having to explain it.
Our Peer Support Program is built on that belief.
Step Guides aren’t just trained professionals, they are individuals who have walked their own journey through behavioral health challenges and recovery. They know what it’s like to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or alone, and they also know that change is possible. Their lived experience allows them to connect in a way that feels real, honest, and judgment-free.
We meet you where you are.
Whether you’re trying to figure out your next steps, struggling to stay motivated, or just need someone to talk to who understands, our peer support team (Step Guides) is here to walk alongside you. Together, we help you identify your goals, build confidence, and take meaningful steps forward at your pace.
Through one-on-one support, mentoring, and connection to resources, we help reduce feelings of isolation and make navigating life a little less overwhelming. We can support you in finding community resources, exploring education or employment opportunities, and overcoming barriers that may be holding you back.
But more than anything, we’re here to remind you of something important:
You are not alone.
Your story matters.
And recovery is possible.
